COUNTERING VIOLENT EXTREMISM (CVE)
Countering Violence Extremism (CVE) is about reducing the terrorist threat through non-coercive approaches that directly address the root cause.
Violent Extremism is a threat to all states and to every person. It poses a serious threat to security, to the values of democratic societies and to the rights and freedoms of citizens, especially through the indiscriminate targeting of innocent people. Countering Violence Extremism (CVE) is about reducing the terrorist threat through non-coercive approaches that directly address the root cause. We actively:-
- Thrive talking about the dehumanizing activities of violence extremism and impress upon citizens that violent extremism is not linked to any single ideology, religion or country.
- Develop online narratives to disrupt/ counter voices of extremism/violence and craft prevention through mentoring of youth through Sharing knowledge, attitudes and experiences that Work.
- Work to support and coordinate efforts or existing CVE related organizations and Institutions to better understand the complexity of violent extremism, including assessing the threat it poses to the Country as a whole and within the Communities of Northern Kenya.
